Khutbah

30 January 2009 - Yes, it is confirmed, JAKIM used part of my writing about the current global economic crisis for Khutbah - with some add ups info and link up to the holy Koran on the importance of thrift spending and surmounting the challenges. This khutbah will be read at all the Mosque under Federal government supervision (today for Klang Valley and perhaps next week it will reach all the mosques in the west and east coast). Do listen to the khutbah and analyze it.

World Economic Forum, Davos

29 January 2009 - I'm keeping up with the current discussion held in Davos, Switzerland. The forum supposed to deliberate ideas and way out for world community that are experiencing a very hard time in terms of world growth. I think it would be better if we try to find a practical way for decoupling. Perhaps with an idea of Asia's own currency to check Euro and U.S. Dollar. But the stark reality of the current WEF in Davos is that those cream of the cream economist don't have any idea/ clue what we are facing or would perceive to see next two years. I keep my finger cross.

An open letter to the world...

I believe we are seeing a world where Samuel Huntington saw it through his book "The Clash of Civilizations". Americans need to make the world understand how they intend to shape the world under its hegemony. I never see American as an enemy of Islam, moreover a threat to the world. Americans had managed to exports its values (good and bad) to the outside world since it took over Britain position as a sole power. During the balance of power period, the world that postured towards America end up economically better. But I regret to see that American government also blindly supports authoritarian ruler which also includes Saddam Hussein just to check Soviet Union. Until Americans make the world understand its translation of democracy, Islamic world would only managed to see America as a friend of the evil Jews and need to be crushed. Despite the fact that the world we are living in nowadays were full of Americans values i.e. way of life (consumerism, banking, democracy, healthcare, market economies, just to mentions a few of the millions of Americans good values which the world had adopted)

I myself very disappointed to see Muslim all over the world failed to understand the true notion of Islam, and I am indeed dishearten seeing America failed in exporting its good values which stopped long ago under Kennedy.

Impasse

19 January 2009 - I'm very much pre-occupied with the 2009 New Year plan which cut away most of my time for writing. However there were a few interesting development that need to be highlighted pertaining to the same issues which I raised a couple of months ago.

UMNO - getting dumb and dumber. I don't know who would be able to save that grand old party from FUBAR, and self detonating - but I do think that UMNO is beyond repair, mostly due to Abdullah and his son in law.

The world economy are not doing good also - domestic economy, I'm very worried if the crisis management on our part were weak; this would prolonged the recession till 2015. Bear in mind that by then we would run out of oil (expected in 2012). Being a net importer would create tension in the energy consumption of the domestic consumer.

I need to pen off... too much the same thing to talk about again and again.

Langkawi

6 January 2009 – I think it is not yet too late to wish Happy New Year for everyone. If people ask me what’s my wish for 2009, then I would say again to get married as soon as possible.

I just came back from Langkawi Island. I stayed there for four days. Lots of things have changed but then Langkawi is still under utilised. No wonder Tun Mahathir was very upset with the Langkawi development. Langkawi will always be one of my loves apart from Penang. I also met a very good friend by the name Salleh. He is the future of Langkawi. Let’s hope something would change for good for Langkawi. I pray for it success.
